 Current Consultations

The Leicester Islamic Academy Trust in conjunction with the governors of Madani High School has been granted permission by the Secretary of State for Education to publish proposals for a new Muslim boys school outside of competition. As a result Madani High School has begun a statutory consultation process for linked proposals to:

1.    Alter Madani High School from a 4 form entry co-ed VA school to a 2 form entry single sex VA school for girls

2.    Establish a complementary new 2 form entry single sex VA school for boys from the same premises.

This consultation will take place between Thursday 2 February 2012 and Friday 23 March 2012 until 4pm. People with an interest in Madani High School are advised to participate in the consultation process.

The Trustees and Governing Body’s preferred date for the implementation of this proposal is September 2012, and, they are working towards this.  However, if this is not achievable, then the Governing Body will seek to implement these changes from September 2013.

A formal statutory notice will follow if proposals are published allowing for further representations.

Full details on how to participate in the consultation process, together with details of important public meeting dates, can be found in our ‘Consultation Document’ which is available to download below.

Asalaam alaikom wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu.

Madani High SchoolWelcome to the Madani High School and Community Centre. I am delighted that you are interested in finding out more about the school and would invite you to browse our website.

The Madani High School and Community Centre is the first purpose-built Islamic faith secondary school in the country. A combination of Islamic architectural design and modern building technology has succeeded in producing, what many people would consider to be a ‘world class school’. Equipped with the latest computer technology and communication infrastructure the institution has the capability of delivering the highest quality educational experience for all.

Currently the school provides education for 300 girls and 300 boys of secondary school age. Their education is organised separately and the school delivers the full subjects of the national curriculum. The school track record in terms of GCSE achievements is among the best in the country and the school will endeavour to maintain, and indeed improve the quality and standards of education for all our pupils. The institution is strongly placed to provide a model example of education with a distinctive Islamic paradigm congruent with mainstream Muslim experience in British society.

We are a very popular school and have one of the highest waiting lists in the city. Already the school has attracted a large number of visitors who have come from all parts of the United Kingdom and abroad. If you would like to visit the school then please contact the school, who will be happy to make the arrangements.

Once again thank you for showing interest in our school and may I take this opportunity to wish you the best in your search for the right school for your child.

With best regards

Mr Arafat Hingora
